Can't play music from my cd player anymore.

Hello there. Typically, I would play music straight from my bluetooth kenwood head unit from my droid x. It would charge my phone and play music at the same time (It has a USB port and the old style input like you use for headphones too). After the big new update hit a few days ago, I'm not unable to play music from the head unit now. It just sits there and hangs at the "loading" when you plug it in. I checked the format of the SD card and it is still fat32 like it was before. Help would be greatly appreciated.

When you connect it via the USB cable to your PC, did you check the Media connection for the USB?  Swipe down the tool bar and check to see if your Media is set to "Charge Only", or "PC" or whatever ...  It may be defaulting to an Unmounted SD Card when you first plug it in.

Delete the Bluetooth pairing on the Droid X and reestablish Bluetooh pairing headphone to Droid X.

It has USB mass storage as the default thing. When I plug it in, it is all ready for access to delete or add files to the card. When it is running to my head unit, it is the same way. It just wont read the SD card it seems. It was never paired with the BT on the headunit and I actually did it yesterday. I even removed and repaired it and still no luck. I might just have to roll back to the older software because the new update sucks anyways.

Every time there is an update, issues arise with Kenwood head units.  I'd imagine it has more to do with an unknown setting than anything else.  I don't have a kenwood HU so I can't help you much there.   You might try checking out some Kenwood forums and see if they address this issue at all.

Every time there has been an update, I have never had an issue with this. When its plugged into the HU, the SD card is in use and everything. It just acts as if it can't read the card or something, because it just keeps saying loading. The format of the card is fat32, so I don't think that is an issue. I just wish I could roll back to an earlier update because thats one of my primary uses for my phone.

Do a hard reset on the device. Once you complete the hard reset repair the devices. Be sure to backup your contacts and remove  your sd card before performing the hard reset. Here are the steps to the hard reset.

  • From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
  • Touch Settings.
  • Touch Privacy.
  • Touch Factory Data Reset.
  • Touch Reset Phone.
  • If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
  • Touch Erase Everything.
