I DESPISE the newest update on my Droid Bionic. Can I undo it?
I don't think so :smileysad:
No, and right now I wish we could.
not happy with yours, either, huh?
Nope! Unless I wanted an expensive door stop. Have an LG Spectrum and just downloaded ICS. And am I ever sorry.
my texting won't work now after doing the update. any tips? already pulled the battery and reset the phone.

Shoot! :smileysad: Time for a factory reset?
apparently so are some of the Bionic owners
have you cleared the phone cache?
may have to do a factory reset
Well, I did it too. If you want to waste a day fiddling with your phone to make it work the way it used to then go ahead and push the update button too. This is a sample of what you will get:
Common icons that change shape and position
Notifications on the top status bar that you can't distinguish from each other any more
Email that is all mashed together so that you can't tell if you are getting a work email or a personal email until you look at it.
Oh and by the way, when you do open up your email, it goes to the last one that was viewed so if it was a work email, then you get to change accounts to view it
Color screens that make it difficult to read on the screen for those of us who's vision isn't what it used to be
Phones that don't match in your household anymore, so now try to answer your spouses question about settings
Make multiple calls to Verizon to try to get answers that they don't know either. At one point I had the Verizon and Motorola rep on the phone and I finally figured out the answer before they were able to.
Your phone will look like an iphone so if that is what you wanted, then your in luck. I DIDN'T WANT AN IPHONE OR I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE!!!
This is only the beginning and I figured since I have wasted about 3 - 4 hours messing around with my phone today instead of doing productive work, I would post this to let others know to NOT PUSH THAT BUTTON. After all, what's another few minutes.
I wish that there was some way to reverse this update. I would do it in a heartbeat. Thanks for nothing Motorola....
I've done a factory reset...all it did was waste half an hour of my time. My phone is slow, I hate that I no longer have the same slide to unlock feature, and the colors hurt my eyes. I don't like the way the icons across the bottom changed. It's irritating, and I am sooo angry right now. I got in my car at 8:30pm, drove ten miles to the Verizon store, and banged on their doors just as they were locking up. I was too damn late to demand that they fix my phone. I wonder. If I broke it and used my wonderful insurance to get a new one, would IT have the old OS on it???

It couldn't be guaranteed and eventually the update would come to that phone too if it didn't have the update.
you can reverse it, but we cant discuss the method here
go to xda forums
NO ANS IF U FACTORY RESET IT AUTOMATICALLY BRINGS U TO THE NEWEST PLATFORM
How long ago did you do the update? The phone will continue updating and optimizing for up to 72 hours after you install it. Texts will be sluggish, The Camera will be sluggish, it will be unresponsive and such. After anywhere from 24 - 72 hours the sluggishness goes away, texts are fast and crisp, camera more responsive.
you have 2 either call vzw or call moto to try to get the old one back
hope this helps
I just called Verizon. They told me there is no way to reverse the update. They said the update came from Motorola. I do NOT like the way it changed my phone! It works differently now! Ugh!!!!
I think you can but you have to call moto or Vzw but moto may be your best bet
As far as I know you cannot 'undo' an OS update, other than by a method that cannot be discussed here, and it does not involve calling Motorola or Verizon.

I was also pissed about the update, so I reset my phone but got all my saved stuff off my sim card, but now it won't let me download any apps....I want my apps back and it's just not working no matter what I do. I'm so confused.
My phone is acting super weird, I can't have one of my songs be my ringtone anymore so I have one of the stupid ones. Also I can't figure out how to just have my texts vibrate, not all my other pointless notifications. This is very irritating!!
You can still have one of your songs as your ringtone by either selecting it as a ringtone while it's playing (using the menu button) or by putting it in an audio file on your SD card.
I also haven't found a way to just have texts vibrate; if you set the ringtone to silent with vibrate on, nothing happens.
to turn on the vibrate for your txt messages:
open text messaging app ---> menu button ---> messaging settings---> scroll all the way down to "vibrate" and make sure it's checked
I'm not sure about your ringtone problem. Mine are still available but perhaps it changed the ringtone on yours during the update try this:
settings---->sound---> phone ringtone. Your ring tones should be there.
hope that helps

Tried that, doesn't work for me ... guess I have my first issue :smileysad:
where is the xda forums located? I need to get the latest update removed...! I HATE it...! I can't even figure out how to use my phone...! Who has the time to refigure how to use a phone. They need to send us all an email telling us how to use it. DO NOT press that button to Update your phone. It's awful...! I'm so tempted to have the phone restore to the original form. I have too much stuff on my phone to do that. but it's a really bad update.
It Cannot be removed ) Sorry..You can have it Flashed at the Store but I.C.S will remain on it..
