The way I do it on my android is I just open my phone on my computer. Then drag & drop pictures into the pics folder or just into memory card.
Start-->My computer-->removeable storage-->Look for your phone-->Drag & Drops pics from computer
if just looking to do a few pics you can email them to yourself, then open the email on the phone and save them. i used that process to get new wallpapers saved and installed.
