Cannot Initiate Calls from Bluetooth Device

I did a search and couldn't find anything, if this has been covered already I aplogize in advance for this post.

I just got my Motorola Droid and a Motorola H790 Headset.  I have them paired and they connect but...I am unable to access the voice prompts for contacts and dialing.  Am I missing something or are they not compatible?

Thanks in advance.

The Droid doesn't do voice dialing through bluetooth right now. It is supposed to be enabled in the upcoming update some time this quarter. And yes, it has been discussed at length in several posts. Just do a little searching, you'll find the threads.

Welcome to the deep dark secret that the salespeople won't tell you...... You can't do it!.  From a sleeping phone you have to 1. tap the power button or slide the keyboard. 2. unlock the phone 3. use the droid mic icon and state the info.

I try to leave my phone in the "car home" mode and just tap the "camera" key to wake up the phone.

**bleep** flaw for such a nice computer...

Just asked my wife.  She can call out on her bluetooth...BUT it is an in-car unit that came with the 2010 Kia Forte she drives and the system downloads the contact list from the Droid every time it pairs.

Guess I have to buy myself a new car too :smileyhappy:
