Since recent upgrade to 2.3.3, I cannot add a contact to any of my contact groups. (I cannot find a menu item under edit or anywhere else to add a contact. Under the previous version, one could add a contact from the edit menu.) Also, when I try to add a new group name, the menu comes up asking me to name the group, but when I then press OK, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Do it from online Google .... manage your contact there and add them to any group you wish. It will sync to your phone.

dpraser, did you ever get a solution to the "adding contacts to groups". I read Cody21's response but It doesn't make sense to me. I'm getting tired or reading all the forum pages and not getting a solution.

what didn't make sense?
create a group or several groups or add to those groups in gmail contacts on your home computer & it will sync to the phone.
have you even tried to add a group in gmail contacts, as described, to see if it really works?
info is provided of how to do things, what you do/don't do with that info is up to you in terms of resolving problems or learning "how to".

Yes, as Bear wrote (and I thought I tried to), you login to your GMAIL account ONLINE (not on the phone). Using Contacts THERE, just create Groups .. they automatically will get populated to your phone under the phone's CONTACTS -- click on the Icon that looks like 3 people standing together -- that's GROUPS .. and it should show you all of your Google groups.

Hey, thanks everyone. Wasn't the fix I wanted. But if I get desperate I guess I'll try it. I have allready inputed all the stuff in my phone for my groups. I just wanted to add to them. It sucks to think that I have to create another address book to create groups to go to my phone. Each of my groups is in excess of 50 contacts. I just wanted to keep them current, add one or two for new people and delete the ones who leave. Groups makes sense, I just can't belive that I can't edit them in the phone. Thanks for all of your help.

you should be able to export contacts, with groups intact, as as csv file, then import into google contacts.
