I have the facebook app on my phone that i downloaded from the android marketplace, and i have it setup as an account on my phone. i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and i set both up twice. But the problem is that i dont get a notification, or sound at all when someone comments, or posts something. How do i get this to work!
OK, if you're using the default FB APP as you say, did you check the SETTINGS ? You can't get to the SETTINGS from the initial FB "live news feed" that comes up. You have to back out 1 step to the screen that gives you the 9 choices (News Feed, Profile, Friends, etc.) Once on THAT screen, click on the Menu button and select SETTINGS. There are 2 settings that you have to set - "Refresh Interval" and "Notifications" ... Did you set those up?
I frequently have facebook issues, the least of which are notification problems. I have settings established. Sometimes it won't connect at all, sometimes it makes me log in when I haven't logged out ... it will never let me play videos from facebook. I hate this phone ... this is my third one. My husband and I even took a class at the Vz store to be sure it wasn't pilot error. Vz just acts like I am the only one with problems.
Also a big FB user ... I just don't have any problems whatsoever. I use TWEETDECK to get updates from BOTH FB & Twitter. I also use the TWEETDECK interface to add status updates, upload pics, etc ... It really works very well. I *never* get prompted to relogin. The ONLY time I get an error of any sort is attributed to acutal FACEBOOK itself -- not the phone.
