Car Charging the droid charge

I've got a 1A auto charger, but it has a hard time keeping my charge up.  In fact, it will only keep it pretty level as long as I'm not running apps.  If I use navigation, the charger can't keep up the charge at all.  Just wanted to check others' experiences to see if they notice this.  I realize that 4g is a big drain, but it seems odd that my car charger can't keep up.  It does a fine job with everything else I plug into it.

That sounds pretty much par for the other android Smartphones as well. The car charger will usually keep the battery at the same level while you are in navigation mode or any other app that is data and gps hungry.
