Car Dock - Lag when removed

Ever since I bought my wonderful car dock, I have had the same problem. No matter how long the phone has been in the dock, either an hour or 5 minutes, when I take the phone out it lags for anywhere from 15-30 seconds. My background image is visible but I cannot change home screens, open apps, etc....nothing.
I dont have a multimedia dock, so I don't know if this happens there also. I've tried killing any apps in the background, toggling gps and/or bluetooth, and existing the car dock app but nothing helps. Really frustrating when I get out of my truck and want to use my phone.
Anyone else have this problem? Ideas as to what it might be?

I have both docks and have the same problem with both. Not every time. But, most of the time. I have not been able to find an answer to this.

Mine does the same thing... I don't notice it a lot because when I take mine out of the car dock, I turn off the display and put it in my pocket. By the time I get to my desk, or get in the house, the X is ready to go.
I just figured it was trying to close the Car Dock software, and that takes some processor time..... doesn't really bother me at all,

Mine does the same thing also, but it doesn't really bother me.
I absolutely LOVE this phone.
When I had my TouchPro 2 I was constantly flashing to different ROMs. This phone works so well I see no point in reflashing.

More of the same, ad nauseum. Yes, I see the lag. It's a few seconds. No biggie.
Droid X, still my favorite phone of all time. And yes, it needs to ring louder.
