OK..I am new here...But I have read a bit before posting...But if I missed something that answers my questions.... Sorry
I recently to my wife a Droid Charge as her upgrade from the BB Storm 2......no comments!!!!!! LOL
When attempting to set up here email on the native client I have been stumped. I know the setting are accurate as I have two other Android devices (even another Samsung product) that all seem to take the information and accept it.
Not the Charge - it usually says there is an error in username and password in which I know is correct, or it gives me a error in credentials message. After multiple tries I got it to accept the Incoming and Outgoing setting... it now claims that it is loading emails... but this seems to go on for days... with no emails ever being loaded. I would really like to use the integrated email client but have had to resort to K9 email. OK but not loving it.
Anyone out there had a similar issue? Anyone? If so, did you get it resolved.
Verizon and Samsung have been little help... They both said basically I was out of luck and I should try a 3rd party client..... really....??? What kind of support is that.....
I look forward to some advice and a possible solution.
NOTE: This was a refurbished unit from Verizon.
Thanks

Dmonach, thanks for your inquiry and welcome to the community!
One thing I have noticed is that the Charge does not use the full email address for the username. Make sure you are using just the first part of the email as the username. Refer to these settings:
Incoming Settings:
Username: Would be the first part of your email (ie: email: example@cox.net, username: example)
POP3 Server: pop.west.cox.net
Port: 995
Security Type: None
Outgoing Settings:
SMTP Setting: smtp.west.cox.net
Port: 587
Security Type: None

Try this from an earlier post I made. It worked for me on 2 different Charges.
