My daughter has a Charge that went haywire during a voice call and started making a loud siren sound for about 5 seconds then the call terminated. The phone was not frozen, and did not power cycle. The phone returned to the home screen and functioned ok after the event. I powered off the phone, took out the battery for 10 minutes then reinserted and powered on, and it seemed to be ok. I called tech support at VZW, and they said they never heard of it before, tried to duplicate but couldn't, and of course blamed it on an app. I understand it could be an app, but this seems to be a stock answer when they can't find anything wrong . Have any of you Charge owners ever experience this problem with your phone. The sound almost sounded like a phone dialing a modem (???)

It was happening on my wife's phone at least daily until she finally got it replaced. Factory resets fixed it for about a day or two but it would always come back.
After several calls to tech support and a trip to the store and getting about as many versions of technobull including the 'never been reported before' line, I was able to get them to replace it. It did take me being really firm and keeping the rep on the line for quite some time till the phone started chirping.

I have read that others have experienced this same thing. Hopefully they chime in.

That noise is a fairly common problem with this phone. There are a number of posts here and on other boards about this issue going back to May.

I appreciate the reply. This has only happened once, and this was not an issue with her original Charge. Her current phone is a replacement she has had for one month. I pointed out to the rep that the same situation happens when you take a car in for repairs that you know has problems, but because the tech can't duplicate it, it doesn't exist in their opinion. That's why I came to the boards to ask, you get true user experiences here. I will tell her to be on the lookout to see if this continues, and contact VZW again if it does.

I used to have that phone before I got my Bionic.
I had this problem on one occasion, I was about half an hour into a phone call and it started making that noise then cut out. I made a couple of test phone calls and again, it only made that noise, but the number I was calling was ringing. I reset the phone and didn't have a problem after that.
