Charge wont stay connected to WiFi.

My Droid Charge connects to a WiFi signal without any problems but after a few minutes it will stop sending and receiving data over WiFi. It shows a strong signal in settings and that it is connected still. I run speedtest app and it can't find a server. If I disconnect WiFi and reconnect it will work for a few minutes and then the same thing will happen again. I have tried several different locations with the same results. Thanks in advance for any help!

I am sure it is frustrating having to constantly disconnect and reconnect your WiFi to maintain a connection with your Droid Charge!

I would like to offer one suggestion for troubleshooting this issue. I would try totally removing the WiFi connection in your WiFi Settings of the device and allow the phone to find your WiFi hotspot all over again, as if just setting it up. I'm including a link below with instructions how to remove the WiFi connection.

If you still experience the disconnects after this step is completed, you will need to reach out to your Router / WiFi provider support center to troubleshoot your Router for mobile WiFi support.

Before anything else check this because it's so easy!

Go to settings>wireless & network>Wi-Fi settings and make sure it's checked>advanced>Wi-Fi sleep policy and choose NEVER. Mine is NEVER.

I have had my Droid Charge for about 1 week, and have been having difficulty getting the phone to connect to my WIFI network. My wife bought an iphone at the same time, and she has had no problems on the same network. I have another network set up at work, and the phone seems to work fine at work. The phone sees the network, but after less than a second, I get a "connection failed." After doing a lot of research, it seems that Droid phones in general have problems dealing with 802.11n networks. I use an apple airport extreme, and my home wireless network is set up as an "n" network, although the extreme is supposed to be backward compatible with g and b. I ended up using an older Airport express base station, and set up a second home network as "g" only. My phone now connects to the "g" wifi network without any problems.

I just though I would post this as a work-around for those that are having similar problems.

Then it must depend upon the Wireless chipset that's in the router because I have no issues with my Droid Charge on my Linksys E3000.

That's interesting... I just checked with the router set up at work (also an apple base station), where my Charge works fine, and its also set as a "g" system. I wonder if there is something about the "n" chipset used in apple's routers that doesn't play nice with the Charge - will be curious if others with a similar set-up experience the same problems.
