City ID - Subscription or Continue Free Trial

An app that came preinstalled on my Droid X called "CityID" has taken over my screen on its own. I don't believe I launched this app. The screen is telling me that I either should subscribe to City ID for a monthly fee, or I can "continue free trial". Well i don't want to do either, but I don't have another option. I clicked the continue free trial, then tried to uninstall the CityID app but it does not seem that there is a way to uninstall this app. I'm not seeing any service that CityID is providing me that I want to use so I don't want to pay, and I also don't want to "continue the free trial" for something I'm not using. VZWSupport on Twitter told me that I can not install this app, but that doesn't seem to make any sense to me since this app is trying to charge me money. A quick google search told me that I can easily remove the app, but the steps I found involve rooting the phone which I would rather avoid doing. How can I remove the app "CityID" without rooting the phone?

Thanks in advance for all of the help

Once the trial is done, then it will ask you if you want the subscription. Just say no, and it doesn't bother you again. At least CityID has not bothered me when the trial was done, and I told it no.

CityID is one of the apps that were preloaded.... and cannot delete... just like blockbuster app and a couple of others.

There was not a "no" option. Either subscribe or continue free trial. lame

So the solutions so far are "live with it" or "root it". No other options?

The only other option is to remove the icon from the app drawer and ignore it  by installing something like launcher pro or adw.launcher.

You get the 'no' option at the end of the trial........... and it doesnt hamper anything once the trial is over... you just do not see the city and state of the phone number that you are calling/getting a call from.

I have not rooted my X, nor did I get the subscription. It just sits in the app drawer.....

No, one does not get a 'No' option with City ID on the Droid X, many 15 dayses after the 1st incoming call. Just Pay or Continue Trial.

One does not want it, one has not requested it, and one has been charged for this free trial and several other useless Verizon services. (Example, I pay for unlimited data but also "Web and Email". ?.  I figured since I'm paying against my wishes for additional services I don't need, maybe I should activate this additional email address. But turns out they stopped offering it over a year ago. They see nothing wrong with charging every customer for it however.)

It's been almost three months since I last posted (over three months since buying the phone), and I'm still getting the "continue free trial" or subscribe options. There hasn't been a "no" option yet. I'm actually starting to wonder what people who click "subscribe" get since. It appears that a service that some people pay for, I have been getting for free. HA HA SUCKERS!!
