Interesting.
As a new Increible user, I like many others, found CityID to be a very anoying and (for me) usless application. After reading many posts on a lot of different sites, what I've found out is that you really can't remove it from your phone.
Some argue that "well if you buy a PC, it comes with all sorts of trial software"... and although that is true, at least you have the option of removing it from your PC. Not so with you phone.
Now here comes the fun part. There "was" a thread on this very board that was on this very subject.. how to remove CityID from your phone.
I had posted a few comments, but when I posted something that I read on another board from another site, well that whole thread just went away. Like instantly.
Not sure if it was what I had posted or not, but it sure seemed odd to me that the whole thread got gone.
SO.... I found another thread and posted the same thing and "POOF" that thread got deleted also.
So it must be something I said. If you search androidforums.com on the subject, you will find what I found out about CityID that apparently Verizon doesn't want you to know.
--------------------------------
Please check this thread regarding the Android threads that are being moved to a new category. Threads are being moved, not deleted. This is going to take a few days to accomplish. Please be patient during the process and search for your posts using the forum search feature.
Thank you

they will edit and or remove entire threads or posts if we discuss anything that violates their terms of service. happens every now and then. ie...if you discuss rooting or any other procedures that are in violation of their terms of service.....or if you discuss what a moderator has done. this will likely be removed. i believe it's to prtoect others from ruining their devices.

OK, thanks for that.
Trust me it wasn't about rooting, just something about how CityID application behaves.
