Connecting my droid to my mac?

Hello friends:

I just got my Droid yesterday and want to interact with my Droid like I used to with my Blackberry Storm before this.  What I want to know is how do I connect to my Mac and see my Droid like I used to with DM from Blackberry.

I have pictures and other things I want to add to my SD card and can't seem to get them connected via the USB on my mac.

Has anyone figured this out and can give the simple steps of doing so???
