For the past 2 days, my phone has been chiming as if I have a text message but the only thing I've got is a notification that says 'Message not downloaded". Nobody is trying to text me, so it's not that. I"ve also ruled out Facebook notifications. Also, I'm not trying to download anything. This is driving me crazy because I keep thinking someone has texted me and I'm grabbing my phone every 5 minutes. But all it turns out to be this dumb notification and I can't figure out why this is happening or how to stop it.
Anyone else having this problem and does anyone have a solution or explanation?
Thanks!

I want to add a little more information. This message is accompanied by a white envelope icon and in addition to "Message not downloaded" in bold, the notification also says "Unknown error" beneath that in a non-bold font. This problem had stopped for several hours this evening but they are starting up again.

What kind of phone do you have? Try going into your [Messages] menu, and see if there is any message that has the envelope with an [X] in red. If so, try deleting the entire thread. You can also reboot your phone by removing the battery for 30 seconds and then power it back on.
If this does not work, please send me a Private Message and I will be happy to assist you.
Thank you,
