Contact Issues

I need help... First, why is it that the pictures for my contacts are old Facebook pictures and not updated ones. How do I update the pictures. Secondly, How can I just see my phone contacts, not all my facebook friends. I set the display groups in the contacts settting, but it never stays. I am sure it is just operator error...If you can help, thanks.

I.have dealt with this a long time ago, but I can never remember exactly how to do it.

Try a couple of things. If you set up a Facebook account in "settings/accounts", then delete it. This "account" is not necessary to
use Facebook.

Also, if you area using the Facebook app, look on the settings of that app and see if there are any settings set up to sync with your contacts. I'm not really sure about that one, but it's worth a look.

I tried this,

Deleted my FB accout

Restarted my phone

Re added my FB account

Restarted phone again

now i still have no FB contacts

I figure i just have to wait for the account to link up.

I my problem is close to the origional posters

I added a ton of FB friends (old joke) so deleting them on FB they were still on my phone

at the V store they told me it was impossible to delete the old FB friends that were no longer my friends on FB

so for now this got rid of them, i hope it doesnt bring back the extras.

(it also might reset teh pcitures which i also noticed were never updating)

i'll post again when i find a change or update.

It is NOT impossible....those reps at the V store are notoriously misinformed about issues with various phones. I wouldn't ask them for any help....its not worth it. You're better off going to one of the various Android forums online for better answers

the problem is with the Facebook app...yeah you can delete the account and the app and reboot and everything will sync up, but if you do anything after that, it'll be right back to not syncing up. I removed a friend from FB and while they didn't get removed, the deletion of the account and app, then reinstalling it did remove them from my contacts but now it won't synce pictures up again

Yep i just came back to inform of my results which were expected.

it sloved my problem and got rid of all teh contacts that i wanted to be rid of. 

Good luck with the syncing up then maybe it will just get fixed with the next update.
