Contact Photos and Profiles help - Droid Incredible

I love this phone but I am afraid that customizing the phone to my liking is going to make me not like it unless I can get some help. I don't want to sync things to facebook because let's face it.... I don't care what everyone on there is doing every second of every day :smileyhappy: I would like to have pics associated with all my contacts and I am curious if there is a better way of handling the information with regards to contacts (ie... a good app that manages things better... or just a overall good method someone is using that is simple).

I was hoping that I would be able to plug the phone into the PC and just edit information using a software application of some type. You know.... drag and drop photos into each profile and type in the information I want for each contact.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you don't want to "sync" then i believe you're stuck entering what you want manually. did you import all of your contacts from your previous phone? if so, then you can add whatever pics you want, to the phone, and then assign a pic to each contact. i use backup assistant (free) so when i get a new phone it just downloads all of my contacts from the previous phone, then i just assign the photos to my contacts. if you didn't use backup assistant, then you should still be able to go into a vzn store and let them transfer all your contacts from your old phone to your new one. not sure if this helps or not. i'm not aware of contacts app that does what you're talking about....but i wouldn't be surprised if there is one.

You can change the settings for the facebook app. You can set it not to show any notifications on your phone and you can set it to only sync with existing contacts in your phone. If the name of the contact matches the name of facebook friend, you will see their picture in your phonebook.

i think though, if you sync w/fb and the names don't match (one is mike and one is michael) it will create a lot of duplicate contacts....but you could just go in and delete them i suppose?

If you have a Gmail account you can create your contacts easier on the computer and your contacts on your phone will automatically sync together keeping you from spending more time on a small screen entering on a small keyboard.

Add contact pictures, addresses, DOB's, emails, everything you want about the person. It syncs right to the phone within minutes.

If you have duplicate contacts between facebook and your phonebook, you can join them together to make one contact. In your display settings you can hide you facebook contacts so only your phonebook shows.

Could use some help in this matter as well. I'm hoping that I can have my contact list photos match to the Facebook contact photo. I've tried everything I can think of. I go to my phone book list, pick a contact, try both the photo icon on the bottom and the "pac-man" looking link button along the top, then I get an add contact, and Facebook button pops up. When I hit that it says to select contact (which all I have on the screen is a keyboard) so when I go to type in the contacts name, nothing happens. Is there a way to do this? I"ve tried reloading Facebook app from Market place (as was suggested in a forum) and still get nothing. The only contact with a pic is mine? Any help would be gretly appreciated!
