Contact favorites on side home screen??

I just got a HTC Droid and am trying to learn all about it.

I know when I first got it last week,when I went to a side screen,there was a place to add my contact favorites. I added 5 names that I call the most.They showed up as icon types.

Now,Im not sure what i did,but they are gone and I can't figure out how to do it again.

My husbands phone has it set up as that,but his phone is newer than mine,so I guess it came pre loaded like that.

Help~~ and I apologize for the terminology. This is the first phone I have had that does more than call, text and take pics!! haha

That's just a contact widget.  Click the + button next to the Phone button on the homescreen where you want it, then go into the HTC widgets and add it back.  You can either have it as a single column (half of one screen) or a large block that fills an entire home screen.
