Contact's address no longer accessible by Google Navigation...

When I tap the Contacts link in Google Navigation, it says the following:

"You don't have any contacts with addresses..."

But when I look at a contact in Contacts, it does have an address.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Go tot he Market and update Google Maps. They sent an update out yesterday that fixed the problem.

Were your contacts saved as Google contacts or as phone only contacts? I have seen reports of mixed results with others having similar issues.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

They are saved as Google contacts; I can see them in Contacts from gmail as well.

Hello jobechoi,

Thank you for sharing you concern about the contacts and Google Navigation. I've duplicated the issue with a test phone & I would like to share my findings with you and the community. When I access the Navigation icon, I was NOT able to use my contact list to get the address from my contact list. I tried an alternate path on using my contacts to get directions. The steps I used are posted below.

1.  Select the contact Icon first and confirm that the contacts are saved under the Gmail account.

2.  Select the desired contact from the contact list that has the address saved in the profile.

3.  Select View Home Address then select MAPS when the device prompts you to Complete Action Using.

4.  Once the address shows up on Google Maps, tap the bubble with the address & select Directions.

5.  A menu will appear that will have My Location and the desired address. Select the blue Navigation Icon on the left.

6.  When prompted to Complete Action Using, select Navigation (the blue triangular icon)

7.  The Google Navigation will begin as desired.

Keep in mind that the steps I posted above is when I was using an HTC Thunderbolt. Steps may vary depending on the make & model of your device. As always, I encourage the verification of VZW location services, standalone GPS services, and Google location services to be checked and active. This can be done under Settings > Location.

Once these steps are complete, feel free to reply to this post with your findings. I will enter a product issue form on the path that I originally took to see if this is something that can be addressed in a software update for the app.

Thank you...

Maps version 5.9.0 seems to have corrected the issue for me.
