Yesterday all of a sudden I noticed that my contacts were missing. If I sign onto Verizon Wireless website they are all there but I can't seem to sync them to my phone. My text messages are showing up as numbers and not names since I don't have contacts. Please help! Thanks!

Do you get any errors when you run backup assistant? Try downloading Verizon Cloud from the App store and running it to see if it will sync your contacts.

Thank you all for taking the time to help out! I really appreciate it.
@browneyedsally,
Keeping the contacts on your phone is definitely important since no one really memorizes phone numbers anymore.
If you go online are the contacts in the deleted/trashed folder? If they are move them back and re-sync.
Have you tried going to the Backup Assistance app on the phone and re-synced the contacts?
If you go to the contacts on your phone what do you see? When did the contacts disappear from the phone?

I also lost my contacts. I went on line and tried to undelete my contacts from the trash (I have no idea how they even got there) but was unable to move them.

CapeMay60, thanks for trying. It's not fun to dig in the trash. Once you're logged in online at My Verizon, you can view your contacts and select Trash. You will be provided with the option to undelete contacts and move them to "Contacts." For steps on how to do this, click http://vz.to/WNJMeV Keep us posted.

Once you get your contacts back I suggest that you GOOGLE Data Pilot 7 and buy it. Then you can save your contacts on your own PC out of harms way. I did this years ago because it is such a disaster if you lose all your contacts and also it's such a hassle re-entering those contacts that you can remember. It's just good insurance for any CellPhone.

I had this problem today. New Year's Day 2014. Weird timing. All contacts gone. Somehow, they were in the Trash. Verizon Customer Support nailed it for me. I just undeleted them and they were restored! Don't know how they got in the Trash, but this worked. Thanks VZW. And thanks browneyedsally for posting this. Happy New Year! David
