Contemplating on Purchasing a Droid Incredible

I have a few questions to people that own an Incredible.  I was wondering if they have sking installed, like the Thunderbolt has.  Does the Incredible have android 2.2?  Is the battery life better or worse than the Thunderbolt.  I'm coming from a Fascinate that gets no support from Samsung.  So I was to find a phone that will get updated in a timely manner.  Thanks.

i have both, the incredible and the tbolt and love them both. as jax mentioned, they no longer sell the Inc in stores so it is unlikely that it will recieve any future OS updates. the battery life is poor on htc devices, but i can get through a day. on my incredible i was gettin just over 2 hours of actual use and another 10 of idle time so it would get me through the day. i nearly retruned the tbolt because the battery was SO bad. however, i turned off the 4g radio and now get 3+ hours of actual use and 15+ of idle time. you can EASILY get through a day unless you actually use it for more than 3 hours. i have the screen set very bright, no task killers and the stock battery. now i just have to activate the 4g radio when i want to download very large files if i want the 4g speed. i'd recomend either device as i think they are both great.

It's running 2.2 nowadays, has been for a long while. Battery life is bad, all HTC phones have that problem. I dunno what "sking" is but if you mean "skype" it's not preloaded on the thunderbolt right now and it's available on the incredible (I don't know about preloaded though).

I doubt the Incredible will get any other software updates, it's EOL and it's a year old, but HTC is industry-leading in actually supporting the software for the phones they make.

I was trying to say skins, not Skype.  I found some websites that still sell the Incredible but they still want a lot of money for it retail price.  So, I might just wait for the Incredible 2 or just get the Thunderbolt.  I have no other brands to go to.  I don't like Motorola's lag and Samsungs aweful support for their products.

i had the inccredible (the first one) since it came out. finished my contract of 2 years then started searching for a replacement.for all around usage, eccept for buisness, it was great! im not the smartest guy, but that fone made me feel like one. very user friendly. wish it could update to 4g. id throw my 4g inc. out the window!! as far as not being sold, well i was in verizon store yesterday,08/26/2012, and the HTC Incredible was still on the shelf!! and there were prices out the door or contract beside it. only problem i can think of with it is you cant save pics to sdcard. gota back em up in media.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE design is much like the design of the Droid Incredible 2, with only a few minor changes. When graded on ease of use, display, design, features, and battery life, customers have given this device a 4 out of 5 rating. The Droid 4G LTE has the same 4-inch display, a 1.2 GHZ Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB RAM. In addition Beats Audio delivers a richer sound experience for movies, music, games and pretty much everything audio on your phone.
