D2 Gingerbread update Fails

I downloaded the update 3 times now, and when my device reboots the unpack starts then I get an Exclimation point, by phone reboots and I get a message that the update failed.

 

Has this happend to anyone else? and is there a work arround/solution?

Yes, this is happening to me. I have downloaded it at least 6 times and get the same thing.

Just for fun I decided to perform a factory reset on the phone and try again. Still didn't work.

Me too, I downloaded over 3g and wifi, installed plugged in and not plugged in.

Downloaded it twice over the network and it failed each time, downloaded twice using wifi and it failed each time, did a hard reset and it continues to fail... that seems incomprehensible.

I have now been to a Verizon store where THEY were unable to figure out what was going on...  wasted three hours yesterday on my own and an hour and a half today at the store.  The best the guys at the store could come up with was that this is another instance (according to them, and based on their own experience) where an upgrade is being pushed but doesn't download as a full upgrade... in most cases, apparently, not including the .exe file.  If there is a solution and Verizon doesn't want us to know it, what is this forum for?

Ditto, contact VZ and you get "let me transfer you to tech support", thanks for pushing an update that bricks my phone.  Now that's what I want to do on my holiday weekend, spend a couple of hours with tech support, time I will never get back.

I downloaded the new update this AM, it seems to have worked no problem. I used OTA and it installed successfully.
