DINC2 is a useless piece of junk

I recently switched from AT&T to Verizon because Verizon is the only thing that really works where I'm currently stationed.  I wanted to get the iPhone4 but I got sick of waiting for it because all the ones that were coming in were earmarked for existing Verizon customers.  I looked at the options and I picked the Incredible 2 because it was comparable to the iPhone3GS that I knew and loved.  The first 3 days it was great, then it went to hell.  The phone started freezing and would stop responding when I tried to text so I took it back to the store and they did a reset on the phone.  Everything went back to working great.  So then I go to the field for a few weeks and come back.  The phone freezes and locks up, it takes 5 minutes to be able to see a text message after I get the notification that it came in, if I'm texting someone and another text comes in the phone freezes, I can't even open the My Verizon app because it crashes.  And don't even think about texting more than one person in ten minutes because the phone will stop responding.  Of course, I go back to the store and they won't do anything because it's been over 14 days so now I'm stuck with a phone that is utterly useless for the one thing that I really use it for.  This is the most expensive paperweight I've ever bought.  If you're thinking of going with the Droid Incredible 2, go ahead and punch yourself in the temple...it'll leave you with less of a headache.

Sounds like a defective phone...I wouldn't even bother taking it to the Verizon Store, I would contact Verizon Support directly and explain what has been happening.  My daughter's phone was failing (different phone not DINC2) and while the Verizon Store would not replace it because it was past 14 days, customer support had no issues replacing her phone.

I have had my Inc2 for a month now and I never have had the issues you describe at all.

I had to replace my first one and except for issues with Verizon's network everything is fine ( i have the opposite situation - where I live AT&T has a better network).  There may have been some bad phones in the first run.  That happens sometimes.  I'm an early adopter and I had to replace my iPhone 3GS as it had problems too.  Again, it was an early run and my replacement was great for the two years I had it.  Replace your phone and I think the next one will be great for you.

Thanks for all the great feedback from the community and hello to you, mountainmedic! I'm disheartened to hear about what your phone has been doing. A member of the community has mentioned bringing your concerns to the attention of VZW's Customer Care team. If you've already done that, then I'm hoping that this matter has already been resolved by the time you read this. If not, please let me know. I can help!

Thanks for your reply Dion.  The phone is still working terribly.  I have downloaded the new software updates and have updated the roaming but it still freezes and now most of the apps won't work either.  I still can't get into MyVerizon or VCast.  What can I do to get this fixed?  Thanks.

I have many recommendations, but I would like to know what you've tried to resolve this. What steps have you taken so far? If it freezes up, how do you get it to unfreeze?

When it freezes sometimes I can shut it down by holding the power button, other times I have to remove the battery.  I have updated the latest software and I have run AVG anti-virus.
