DINC2 not recognized by PC

When I plug my DINC2 into my computer (WIn7 64), I get a message saying I need to install the TL-bootsrap.exe program, which installs VCast manager, but nothing else happens. VCast doesn't recognize the phone and nothing happens on the phone.

Any suggestions?

Problem solved by turning off phone, removing battery, replacing battery, turning phone back on, all while USB cable plugged into both computer and phone.

Don't know which of those steps did the trick, but when the phone came back on it gave me the option of what to do in USB mode. I still get the request to install the VCast software (which even the VZW support tech who helped me with this suggested I not use!), but the SD card now shows up.

Please make sure your Mass Storage is on. To turn on, go to Menu, Settings, Connect to PC, Default Connection Type and select Media Sync.

This can also be done from the home screen. Touch and hold the window shade (located at the top of the screen). Drag the window shade to the bottom of the screen and select Media Sync.

Thank you,

No luck. I still only get a 5.86 MB "CD Drive (x:smileyhappy: Verizon Mobile" (with 0 bytes free) in Windows Explorer. But now that it is in Media Sync mode it won't let me access the drive.

FWIW, when I try to install VCast Manager, there is no option for any HTC phones.

Also, if I put the phone in USB debug mode, I get a Yellow exclamation point under "Other Devices" for 'Android Phone'. The "HTC Android Phone USB Device" item under Disk Drives is still OK.
