DO NOT download from these links the same couple people seem to be providing.

I'm only going on a whim, but something about them screams to me those links are tainted. I may very well be wrong, but think twice before downloading.

You certainly have a right to be careful about this. I can tell you that I've downloaded and installed the update. If you are concerned about the certificate error try http://android.clients.google.com/updates/voles/signed-voles-FRG01B-from-ESE81.e48e48ff.zip rather than the previous link. Since it isn't an https link, you won't encounter the certificate problem (but it is the same exact location).

As I've said elsewhere, manual updates aren't for everyone. Waiting for the OTA update is safter. For those simply can't wait, manual installation is an option, and one that I don't believe voids the warranty, but your milage may vary (since I've done both the 2.1 and 2.2 updates manually, I've not had a problem, but I've also never needed to take my phone into VZW for anything, so I have no proof).

I'll post the "build info" from the downloaded version on my phone. (Settings -> About Phone, bottom 4 entries) If someone who gets the OTA update would check their phone it would be a good "confirmation" that this is the same build as VZW is sending via OTA.
