DOCKING STATION

I have the docking station is it just me or does it seem kinda hard to rest the phone in it. I always feel like IM going to break the prongs the phone does not slide into the docking station very well. Also I have to take the case off everytime to dock the phone. Anyone else find this annoying.

Yes, at first it seemed really hard to put in and get out, but after awhile it gets easier it seems.  I kind of have to wiggle it to get it out, but putting it in is easier.  You just have to put the end with the connections in first and then it slides right in.

 

If you have the car dock, there is a piece of plastic that you can slip out to make the opening bigger for, supposedly, the case to fit in the dock as well.  I haven't tried this out yet as my case has yet to arrive from Hong Kong. :robothappy:

It is true that parts of the media docking station move around or stretch (or scratch away) over time, which makes it easier to put your Droid X unit in it over time or the longer you use it. However, it is also true that some media docking stations are slightly defective. This is not a defect in all of them, by varies from unit to unit. With some media docking station units, the X easily slips right into place. With other media docking station units, you need carefully to hold both the station and your X at the right angles and use the right amount of pressure in order for your X to slide into place (in some cases you really need to push it hard) while fitting into the USB and HDMI ports/interfaces. If you have a problem fitting your X into your media docking station, you could either see if it gets easier over time with repeated use, return/exchange it for another one, and/or bring your X into a Verizon store and ask them if you could try seeing how hard or easy it is to put your X into one or more different media docking station units that they might have open or on display.

I find I have to put the Left lower corner in first, sometimes giggle it into place, then gently press down on the Right side to get it to dock.

To remove: reverse the order: I gently pull up on the right side, guiding it up while holding the left.

I have the same issue, the media station has loosened up a little but is far from just sliding in or out. I have the car dock also and us it to hold my dx while at my computer. I like it much better than the media dock since it adds a lot of options to the viewing position and it does slide in and out very easily. I wish that Moto/Verizon would add a optional home screen for those who would like to use this dock inside.
