DROID 2 charging port not working

I have a Droid 2 that I purchased just over a year ago.  When I try to charge the phone, the cable is not making contact in the charging port.  There is a lot of wiggle whe you plug the charger into the phone and you have to hold is a certain way, otherwise the phone will not charge. Anyone else having this problem and found a solution?

When I contacted Verizon I was basically told that my options were to use the upgrade from another phone on our plan or to get a certified preowned phone.  I tried contacting Motorola and was told that becasue it was out of warrenty the minimum fee to do a repair would be $110.  And it could be more.  I just feel that when you are spending $200 for a cell phone it should be made to last until the company allows you to upgrade.

I can definitely understand how troubling it is not to be able to charge your phone. I’ve had phones with this same issue.  Have you tried using a different charger? Do you have the same results? Are you having any other issues with the phone?  Please let me know so I can further assist in resolving this issue for you. Thanks.
