DROID CHARGE GINGERBREAD OTA IS FINNALLY OUT YESSSS

http://www.mobilebloom.com/samsung-droid-charge-gingerbread-update-now-available/224249/ I read this super early today and 1hr later I got the notification on my phone yay I finally have gingerbread 😜 and wow it has fixed a lot of my problems n is soooo fast it its got the brand new touch wiz and no more brown notification bar n idk but the sound is much much louder and speakers are twice as loud n did I say almost 5times faster :smileyhappy: and os takes now only 1third of the ram that froyo took I have 190mb where before it was 50to 100mb I'm super impressed

if this is a joke or referring to "rooting" I am going to be {word filter avoidance}...People already know of the rooted GB for the Charge...No one wants to read this garbage unless its an "OFFICIAL" update...My charge isnt even activated because I'm waiting for this update before hand. DONT POST UNLESS CORRECT! Thank you! :smileyhappy:

Dirge,

If you feel that way, PM the admin and suggest it. I read the TOS for this site and, ironically, if the OP intended this as a joke, there is no violation of the TOS. I personally think it's totally wrong, and perhaps a fake, but everyone here seems to recognize it as such, and the OP has been called out by you and others. Little chance anyone, even a newbie, will believe this guy.

But, hey, if you want to charge, I'll get out of your way!

Seriously??  Let's see... You create a post entitled " DROID CHARGE GINGERBREAD OTA IS FINNALLY OUT YESSSS".  You make a claim that you actually received push notification from, and installed an official gingerbread update from, Verizon.  You make comments about improved battery life and differences between GB and Froyo.  You reference a bunk article from some unbeleievably privledged author, who does not/cannot support any claim made.  And after all this, you aren't sure that some people may have believed you and that you didn't mean for anyone to take you seriously?

 

As a moderator of this forum pointed out to me, you have not violated any of the terms of agreement for this forum.  But, I can tell you that you have violated the trust we put in others on this forum to provide accurate and helpful information.  You've done a disservice to eveyone that read your topic.  I really hope you got a good chuckle out of this.

On the other hand, gabrielpina did realize that his post, even though he meant it as a joke, was causing some serious unhappiness and he did the right thing.  He stepped up and told people it was a joke and apologized.  That does a lot in my mind to tell me he is overall a good guy, even though I don't get his sense of humor.

 

Apology accepted.  Just please, next time, if you want to tell a joke, make sure you let us know it is at the bottom of the post!  That way we can laugh at it, or not, as we please, without getting all twisted up about it.

Not a normal, functioning human being?  Really?

 

While I don't agree with what gabrielpina did, I can't say that I haven't done things as...hmmm...unintelligent or tasteless in my time.  I try to get through each week without doing something stupid, and some weeks I even succeed!

 

OK, he made us run around like crazy people trying to figure out if it was true...for maybe 5 minutes.  Not a big deal in my book.  I suggest we go easy on the guy, since at least he came clean and admitted his mistake.

What gabrielpina4 did is no different than what Samsung and Verizon are doing.   Will there be a gingerbread update for the Droid Charge?...."No comment"     When will I be able to use the front camera like it is supposed to be used?.... "No comment"  When will this phone run smoother?...   "No comment"

 

Then updates are leaked and... "No comment"

 

Samsung does this on all their updatable products.   Blu-ray players, TVs, phones, and Tablets, updates are few and far between.  

 

So who's playing a joke on us?  Samsung.

I've had samsung devices update to often. THat gets even more annoying then a compiled update to address issues in one batch rather then interrupting me all the time.

Read the article at the provided link. This is a BETA release.  I plan to wait for the official OTA release, but the adventuresome may want to try it and pass on the results in this forum.
