DROID X Calendar Entries won't Save

Just got New Droid X and can't seem to be able to save any calendar entry I try to make on the phone.  I don't keep my Gmail calendar up, so I am not interested in sync issues.  I make entries on my phone all the time and did it on the Blackberry I just gave up for this Droid X. 

When I male an calendar entry it appears to be saved, but then it's gone.  Look back in the calendar and it's gone like it was never there.  I have tried to make the same entries 4 or 5 times, looking to see if I am missing some button but each time I end up the same way.  I have tried to read blogs but they are unclear as to a resolve but there are more comments about what I am experiencing, so it must be a fairly common problem.

Have you gone all the way down and hit "saved". After you make your entries, tap the return button and the keyboard will disappear and you will see the Saved button.

Yes I have and it makes no difference.  The appointment/event shows on my home page next to the date for as long as 10 secondes and also on the week's calendar page.  Then after I reactivate my screen(power saver) the entry is gone, gone everywhere, like it was never there.

You might try downloading a different calendar app. There are several on the market. Some are free. I can't recommend any particular one since I am using the stock calendar with no problems. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for the reply again but I figured it out at lunch today.  When my gmail account was setup when I purchased the Droid at Verizon, they check the box to sync my google calendar and I don't use it.  When I went back and unchecked the box and then made an entry in the calendar on my DroidX it saved and stayed.  So, the problem was with the setup not the app itself.
