Got my X last night, love it.  Up graded from the D1 and so far glad I did.  Probably will have many questions in the days to come but I'll start off slow.  I activated the patter password and on my D1 thats all you would have to do to access the phone is draw the pattern, on my new X I have to slide the stock unlock to the right, then draw my pattern, seems kinda redundant, anyone know a fix for this, Thanks

No there isnt any guarenteed way to disable the slider feature with 2.2, this feature was on 2.1 but for some reason they disabled the option to disable the slider in the update.... You can give "No Lock" app from the market, some has reported that it works but I tried it and it only worked half the time, but give it a try because it seem to work better on other devices but it has not been identified why,

I just got my X on October 2 and I am wondering if it has Android 2.1 or Android 2.2. How can I tell?

Or....

tap on the menu button (bottom left "hard" button) and tap "settings" and scroll to the bottom to "About phone", tap and look at the 5th item down which is "System version", It will say 2.3.15 if you have 2.2. If not then tap the top item (System update) and it will update your phone to 2.2 by following promps.
