I will never understand why people take the time to create an account and post a comment like this when they can just take the phone back.
If The "PHONE SUCKS" Take It Back! If you are on the 3rd phone with the same problems I would have to say that it is a 99.99% chance the problem is with the device operator.

I have to agree, the chances of more than one device having the same exact issue usually means there has to be another common factor causing issue, is most cases its a incompatible application always being installed. Best way to isolate the issue is remove all 3rd party apps or Hard Reset (Which is easier and wiser to trouble shoot) and run device without anything installe and see if the issue shows, if not then install apps a little at a time until you identify the issue... Blaming the device before doing this is wasting energy for nothing.
Also as its been said so many times before, if the "Phone Suck" so bad I would suggest returning it and get something more to your liking.

LOL..Just am getting the D-X and upgrading from Android 2.1.2 and to tell you the truth never did learn it completely. I did have a stroke and heart attack during this period. However I love this phone. We camped across Mexico and the USA and it was my lifeline. I am looking forward to the D-X coming in the mail. Any and all recommendations as a new by will be greatly appreciated. Someone told me to hook up with this community and it would be the best way to learn this new device. As a stroke patient I view this as Rehab.
Thanks and hello. nonmeister

If the problem was bad software updates, then the MAJORITY, or ALL phones would have problems. But that's not the case. The majority of the phones are working just fine. It's an extreme minority of phones that have issues after an update. My guess would be much less than 1/10 of 1%.
I also don't think the operator of the phone is directly at fault either cuz every phone has a different operator and and as I said earlier, the majority of the phones don't have problems.
That leaves "apps"! Verizon/Google/Motorola can't test an update with every app. There's in the neighborhood of 100,000+ of the little guys. This means the operator is indirectly responsible because he/she installed the app. If you're the type of operator that installs lots of apps, you're just increasing your chances of having a problem with an update. It's also possible it's a combination of 2 or 3 apps that causes the issue.
Just my 2 cents......

It's a love/hate thing... love it when it works and hate it when it doesn't.

I was with Sprint for three years but hated their customer service. So I moved to T-Mobile. T-Mobile has great customer service but their phones are crap. I am now with Verzion and I could not be happier. Great customer service and my Droid X is the best phone I have ever had.

Mobile hotspot is nearly useless. Drops out continuously. Tried different channels. Tried different encryption schemes. Will even quit during transfers. "3G"' indicator flashes on and off. Phone gives mesage "Turning off", and then wifi is gone. Running with wall charger plugged in. When connected, signal strength is "Excellent" according to Windoze. Same problems in Washington, DC area and Dayton, Ohio. Both areas were very reliable when using tethered Blackberry, so I thing the Verizon signal is strong. Someting in the Android software is haywire.

Geez. Some of these answers are of no use. Call customer support. I had the same issue with my and she walked me through a system reset that solved the problem without deleting any of the other files I saved on my phone. Good luck.

Oh come on, Bansale. You couldn't get anything out of "A sucky phone" ??
That's gotta be useful in a term paper somewhere....
(With appropriate apologies to Lou, just couldn't help myself)
