Deleting Messages

I have recently been receiving more messages on my phone. I am not sure how to delete messages so that new ones can come through. How is this done?

You don't have to delete them to receive new messages. If you want to delete them, go to the thread and click on menu.

As jim said you don't have to delete to revive messages. I have my texts set on 600 per person.
To delete a thread of texts press and hold said thread and options will come up. Delete thread. Poof no more of that one
