Device Administrator has disabled Unlock Security features

It appears that the ability to not use a security lock as well as the pattern lock feature have both been disabled by the remote phone administrator.

In the Device Administrators, of course, it is not possible to add additional administrators.

Why are these features disabled?

Is it possible to add my "user" as a Device administrator?

This all sounds kind of familiar... Verizon disabling useful phone OS features.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Other forums do not appear to indicate any others are - maybe I'm the only one that wants to turn the Pin security feature off.

I'm having the same problem, so you are not alone.  I've tried re-installing the latest version but it still did not fix the problem.  I too would like to turn this feature off.  Still trying to find a solution, if I find it, I'll let you know.

I did determine what the issue was. When you have a corparate email account (aka exchange) to sync witht the device it pushed down a security policy that enforces the pin/password rule... im surpised I didn't realize it sooner. Once you remove the account the options are enabled again. I guess this is a security feature we will just have to live with if you want to sync an exchange email account.

I take back all the bad things a said about Verizon.. I love this phone once again!

Don't know if you were eluding to this or not, but I did you as you said removed my corp email account, then removed the PIN and then set a Pattern instead.  Then, re-added my my corp email account and the requirement for the PIN was no more and the other two options are now / still available.

So, in other words, it seems that after removing and then adding the corp account completely resolves the problem.
