Disable text notifications on lock screen

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone know how to disable test notifications on the lock screen? It's not that big of a deal but when someone sends a text their name and a short piece of that text shows up. I don't always want someone to see any parts of my text, esp. when It's a work-related text message. Can someone help me with this please?

 Unfortunately there is not a setting available to hide the notification; however, you can download Launcher Pro. Launcher Pro is an application from the Android Market Place.  Keep in mind all applications are from third party users and are download at your own risk. Launcher Pro will allow you to hide the notification bar entirely.

Thanks for the help. I did manage to find another post that was asking for the same help. I followed those steps by going into the settings in messaging. There was a check that I unchecked. That seems to work. Thanks again!

You can disable the text notifications on the lock screen by going into messages> clicking on menu > settings> and under received messages, uncheck 'received notification'.  However, it takes it off of your lock screen AS WELL AS your status bar.  It appears to be all or nothing.
