I rewired my charging dock so that I could use it, but alas, the phone does not flip to widescreen when I put it in the dock. My LG Ally did and acted like an alarm clock. Does the phone not do this? That was my whole reason for getting the dock.
It should rotate so you may want to make sure the auto rotation option isnt disabled under Settings / Display / Auto Rotation...
