It was connecting fine till I fooled around with some settings and encrypted my files. Now it just tries to connect and then says "disabled"...

Oh my! Wi-fi connectivity is an important feature on your device. I know how frustrating it can be when the features you use most are not working. Let's get this fixed. What type of files did you encrypt? Have you tried deleting the Wi-Fi pairing and readding it. When you re-add the pairing it should prompt for your Wi-Fi password again. Keep me posted
