I just downloaded a ringtone to my droid x, and have followed the instructions to save it to my song list, but it is not saving. Anyone have any advice?

I had the same thing happen about 3 weeks ago. I went to the local Verizon store and found out that downloading some ringtones from the Verizon web page may not be compatible with the Droid X. The store tech support could not figure out why, and so we called Customer Service. They credited my download cost, stating their may be a compatibility issue. I would suggest calling Customer Service directly. JohnEB2

The ringtones I've downloaded are downloaded as numbers and not the name of the song I ordered. And as far as I can tell, there is no way to rename them. Check your list of ringtones, songs, music for any oddball numbers.

i had the same problem too but i figured out a way to save the ringtone to the phone. i purchased a the ringtone thru the Verizon website and it sends a text with the ringtone to the phone. i tried the procedure that it says to do but it doesnt work.
so what i did:
1. i forwarded the text message with the ringtone on it to my email.
2. opened the message and saved the ringtone to my desktop.
3. hook up ur droid x to the computer with the USB and make sure its on pc mode.
4. open browse files on the droid x window, it will open another window, from there click on removable storage.
5. open the ringtone file folder and then drag the saved ringtone that is on the desktop to the opened folder and i think it formats the ringtone or some junk like that. then the song is saved to ur phone.
this is what i did and it worked for me.
