Driod X almost never connects to network extender after upgrade

recently upgraded droid x to 2.3.3/4.5.605 and rarely will connect to my network extender now. sometimes if I place the phone beside the extender for a half hour or so it will switch over to it. Have tried power cycling everthing to no avail. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you tried  reprogramming the device on the extender by *228 option #1, do this while you are connected to extender...  This worked for me in the past..

thx wildman! I gave it a shot - got a 'your phone has been successfully programmed" msg - initially had 3G + 4 bars for a couple mins, then dropped to 1X 0 bars. Now back to 3G + 4 bars...oops, down to 0 bars. Now back up to 3G 4 bars. Now 0 bars/no signal. I'm sitting 6 feet from the extender with the phone on my desk watching it go through it's gyrations - I don't get it.

oh, I should note I have two droid X's - both have the exact same issue, but do not cycle (3G - 1X - no sig - 3G) in sync.

If both devices are doing this then it sounds like you may have a issue with the extender, does the phones only have issues when on the extender, does it work well when using just network..

called support, they have opened a ticket. fwiw, under phone status/signal strength on the droid, I see the signal strength fluctuating from -59dBm to -78 dBm and the Mobile Network Type switching back and forth from 1xRTT to EvDo.

crap - can't make or rcv any calls tonight... tried #48 - msg "Welcome to US Cellular" !!  Signal - 1x with 0 - 1 bar (which is why I bought the network extender) - that thing I'm sitting 5 feet from!

returning home from a trip tonight and I see my situation is the same. Tech says there is some sort of compatibility issue between the NE and the latest droid X release - I'm told they've tried some things on my NE but nothing has solved the problem yet and they will continue to try and resolve the problem...

I thought this was just me!  Is your NE an original or a 3G?  I am thinking this is becuase after the update the Droid wants 3G and if it even barely sees one it will not flp over to 1X like before.  Is there a fix for this besides dropping another $249 on another NE that is 3G?  This was working find and now is not so who is on teh hook to fix/repace the NE?

NE is a newer 3G unit - just bought it a few months ago. The problem, and VZ agrees is in the NE - we've had friends over with Incredibles, iphones, and others, and no one can connect. The problem continues 5 weeks after it began - no one from VZ seems to be working very hard to solve the problem. I can only suggest people steer clear of the NE - IT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK.
