I recently upgraded from the first generation Motorola Driod to the Motorola Droid X and I have experienced erratic behavior on my phone on two separate occasions now. The first episode resulted in a visit to the Verizon store and a required reset to factor defaults and the rebuilding of my contacts, email and apps. Now, three weeks later, I seem to the faced with the same issue and likely solution. What a pain.
In speaking with my business partner, his college aged son recently upgraded and he in now on his third factory replacement as a result of the same issues.
What can I do? What is the position of Verizon and Motorola regarding what appears to be a serial failure?

What do you mean a "serial failure" ? If a hard reset brought your phone back to life there's about a 95% chance it has to do with a faulty app you have installed. Remove apps one at a time and do a battery pull reset until you find which app is causing your problems.
As for losing your contacts, use the VZW Backup app that is installed on your phone to back up your contacts to the VZW server.

I was wondering the same thing..... but I guess 3 failures out of 1,257,916 phones constitues a "serial failure".
"Isn't fun the best thing to have?" Quote by Arthur from the movie by the same name. (I see they're producing a remake of the movie "Arthur" to be out next month or so. Wonder if my quote will be in the new movie?)

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

If you tell us what this erratic behavior is, we could possibly help you better.
