Droid 2 Freezing/Problems

Hey guys! I have had the Motorola Droid 2 for a little over 6 months now and have frequently been having some problems with it. My phone will randomly just freeze up on me. The screen looks black; however, the screen is faintly showing. Sometimes it will respond to me sliding the phone or pressing the on/off button to unfreeze it, but the majority of the time it just stays there for quite sometime until the phone completely reboots itself. Another problem I have with the phone is it turning off on me and then rebooting. I also have people text me saying "Hey I just tried to call you!" when my phone never rang. I don't know if this is a phone problem or a service problem. I have never had trouble with the service in the area I live. (I always have full bars.) I'm getting pretty frustrated with the phone itself. It's just laggy and often requires me touching a certain button twice before the application opens up. So all things considered, will Verizon Wireless replace my phone or is this fixable? And just out of curiosity, if Verizon were to replace my phone would they just give me another Droid 2 or replace it with another type of phone? Thanks for reading and hope you can help! Sorry for the long message!!!

All of our phones come with a full one-year manufacturing warranty. If it is determined that your phone is defective we will replace it under the warranty. Before we replace the phone I recommend that you perform a factory rest of the device. I have provided instructions below. You can also find these instructions on page 52 of your user guide. I have also provided a link to the user guide below:
Troubleshooting
Full Factory Reset
To reset your phone to factory settings and erase all
the data on your phone, touch Menu > Settings
> Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone.
Warning: All data on your phone will be deleted.
(Nothing on your memory card is deleted.)

I took the phone to the nearest Verizon Wireless store, and they performed a factory reset; however, the phone still decided to act stupid. They replaced my phone under the warranty and received a new Droid 2. I am, however, not thrilled that I received the same exact phone. I was messing with it last night and it was acting like it was wanting to freeze up on me. It was being super laggy and jerky all at the time.

I may just do that, as I've been having problems with it going to sleep and not waking back up, would have to ether remove the battery or hold the power button till it reboots. And yesterday I got a call and it would not wake backup, and kept vibrating till I removed the battery to get it to reboot.

I was experiencing the same problems. The only fix that I have found other than replacing my phone is by doing the factory reset. I was able to back up most of my contacts and photos since I had an SD card in it. I did lose some contacts, mainly the ones that I frequently dialed ( go figure). But so far so good. The Rep did say the next option was a replacement and that would be a factory refurbished one.

Yeah well we are having the same problem I was thinking that it could be an app or something that we may have done. So is our best option is just taking it in and have tech look at it? Cause we have only has our phones for 2 months

I am so sorry you are having problems with your Droid 2, and I would be more than happy to assist!
Couple of questions first. Which model of the Droid 2 do you have, the original Motorola Droid 2, or the Global version? What exactly are you experiencing with your Droid, and when did these issues start? Have you attempted a Hard Reset/Factory Reset, as mentioned by previous Verizon Wireless Support Rep in May?
