Droid 2 Global - Keeps Opening Camera

This problem occurred yesterday afternoon out of nowhere I suppose you can say.

I was on my mobile web browser Googling and then all of a Sudden the Camera opened and Automatically took a picture. I thought nothing of it at first, I figured maybe my finger accidentally hit the camera button on the side so I backed out of it. 10seconds later it did it again. This time the phone wasn't in my hand but laying beside me. That caused me to be concerned and I'm wondering of course "why is my phone being buggy out of nowhere." I checked to make sure the Camera button was not sticking - it wasn't.

I like to call myself pretty tech savvy so the first thing that popped into my head was maybe Permissions with an Application that was recently installed/updated is messing with the camera. I had just put in a FB Chat Client on my phone. I uninstalled it. Rebooted my phone and the problem was still there. Now I'm kinda making a ":womanmad:" face because I don't know what the problem COULD Be. I uninstalled some other apps that I didn't use much or figured maybe it was to cause problems. So I uninstalled some games, went into my AndroZip App to make sure the folders were deleted and checked my SD card. Restarted my phone once more... for 10 mins all seemed well. Then it started switching to Camera Mode again and automatically taking pictures on it's own.

Now I am very frustrated because I don't know what the problem could be. I did a Task Kill, didn't help. I did a Soft Reset, that didn't help. I wanted to NOT do a Factory Reset because I didn't feel like spending hours getting my phone back to how it was.

Well I ended up doing a Factory Reset - twice. First time I went into the option of my phone for a Factory Reset. Phone was cleared, back to out of box state. After 10mins again - it started going into camera mode. I rolled my eyes and said "forget it" because it was 6am and the phone was still acting up. I just put the phone into lock mode and when I woke up tried to do minimum usage with it.

It did it a few times during the day but I was too busy with other things to try not to let it get to me.

I did a Hard Factory Reset this time tonight where I manually Press X and Power..... all that Stuff.

The problem still exists. I'm not sure exactly WHAT it is. I'm not sure what it could be. Maybe it IS an application but I'm just not sure with. I got rid of any of the ones that would cause me to raise an eyebrow, even my eBay one. I still have my Mobile Banking, Handcent, Androidify by Google,Watchdog and a couple of other Stock ones on my phone. I've had them on my phone for awhile (aside from Androidify since that is a new App but it hasn't caused trouble yet), I highly doubt they are the reason. I use to have GoLauncher and I even uninstalled that because it was recently updated and I thought maybe it was badly coded.

No, my phone has never been Rooted, I'm not sure what the problem is. I would like a solution that doesn't lye with "you have to take your phone in". This is technically already my second Global, the first one Bricked with me trying to install a Theme from the Market Place v.v.

As far as I know there is really only one additional option. After performing a factory reset create a new google account to use with the phone.
This will make sure that it isn't an application problem, as none of the downloaded ones will be reinstalled.
If it is still taking pictures you have a hardware problem. If it isn't you have some applications that are not behaving well.

It sounds like a hardware problem. When you did your factory reset, did you make sure that nothing was backed up by unchecking the "backup" box?

I did another Factory Reset, I usually make sure to uncheck the BackUp but sometimes I'm tired when I do it and might forget but as soon as I woke up I did a factory reset and made sure it was unchecked. I also used another GMail Name; Before the process was even finished with the phone going to the home screen the Camera opened so I guess it's safe to say it's a Hardware Issue?

*Sighs* Really the last thing I want to deal with is replace a phone I already replaced the first time. v.v Thank you though.
