Phone service is required. There currently is no option to have just the data service.
I don't think that is what is being asked. If you put the phone in airplane mode, the phone service and data service is turned off. How do you make the settings so that "just" the phone service is turned off?
You won't be able to make calls, text or transmit any data, but you can use the camera, listen to music, play any games (provided they are not data connected).
there is a way to do this but it is not allowed to be discussed over this forum.
