This seems like a simple thing -- I guess so simple the owners manual did not feel the need to explain how: after creating a group list, how do I put the contacts into the group? Everytime I create a new contact (thinking it is going to a group) it only goes to All Contacts and the Group is still empty. thx!

You will need to export your contacts to your contact group. You will click on menu. You will have choice of import/export contacts at which you will select. Export to your sd card. Once exported, you will then import back to device and select phone contacts.

You have got to be kidding. Why is this not just a field in the contact data? I downloaded an app called Deja Office. It is not as slick as the droid apps, but you can edit a contact's group when you enter or edit a contact. You can even synch it with the phone's contacts so all the info is available for caller ID, etc. A shame you should have to do all this to edit a contact
