My droid 2 is running by itself..makes calls, plays music, can't even make a call anymore. The touch screen goes crazy. While I was doing a factory reset it called verizon help desk while programming the phone. The lady on the other end told me she couldnt hang up on me told me to take out my battery to disconnect with her. It was still programming when I did this and now my phone is worse then it ever was. I can't even use it anymore. I have had it for 1 year and four months. Didnt get the insurance. so I have been paying 70$ a month for 16 months is 1,120.00 for a phone I can no longer use. It wasnt droped, never has been wet. Verizon won't help me at all. Thanks so much you guys. I've been on a family plan with 5 numbers for over 10 years. We have paid a ton of money. Is there anything I can do?

I have the same problem - have been to Verizon twice, called a couple of times with no avail. It began happening after the "gingerbread update" in September - I've been told that Verizon is working on a bug to correct the problem several times - has anything happened? NOPE!

I use my cell phone as my primary work line - I need to be available 24 hours a day in case of emergencies - do you know how many times the phone has reset on its own in a DAY without me even touching it? I'm sure you do!!!

What can we do to get this problem straightened out?

Having same problem and like u said did factory reset and it is even worse. I can't do anything on my phone. I pay two hundred and some dollars a month. And no help. This is getting old. Hope it gets fixed soon. Or verizon may lose good customers.

I was facing similar problem from last weekend.  I have performed factory reset but it did not help. However, after reading one of the DROID blog, I have applied alcohol based gel on the touch screen and cleaned the screen couple of times.   The problem seems to be fixed. I have used Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer.  Hope this helps you!
