Droid Apps suddenly update

Suddenly all my Droid apps updated themselves. I'm not certain if all of them updated but a good number (20-30) updated and tied up my phone for awhile. I always stay current with updates so there was no reason for this. Any thoughts on why? Was there a new phone update recently? Is this virus behavior? I think my system software was up to date before this happened. I am running 2.2.1 now.

When you installed your apps, you must have checked to box to allow automatic updates.

As i was saying, I usually manually update. However this was BIGTIME downloading. I have never had that many apps update at once....could have been up to 40 updating. Tied up my phone for awhile.

You should go to your market, and then select your "menu" button, and then "MY apps". You will then have to select each of the downloaded apps and unselect "automatic updates" once they come up on the screen.
