When holding the new droid bionic my palm touches the hdmi and charger outlets and I can feel an electrical impulse/charge, quite weird, any ideas? I can place my finger (barely over) the outlets and feel it... does not seem like it should be that way

I had my phone for 5 days before the Otterbox came in. During that time, I wasn't using my bluetooth headset, either, so I had to switch hands while on long calls because of arthritis in both wrists.
At no time did I experience any sense of shocking, even a slight tingle while holding the phone. And have not so far...
If you feel that your phone is indeed causing you discomfort as you describe, definitely take it in and have it examined.

Hi jimrieth,
As noted by gerio (thanks!), your phone should not emit any type of electric wave. Please keep in mind that this issue cannot be duplicated/experienced by any of our representatives via phone and a hands on evaluation must be performed in order to address and resolve. Please bring your phone to a Verizon Wireless store near your for a hands on evaluation. To find a store near you simply click on the Store Locator link on top of this page.

I had the same thing happen to me. Then...I took the silicone cover off and...it stopped. I tested it on and off...and for some reason the silicone cover seems to be the cause.

Static electricity?
There would have to be a certain set of conditions present for this to be the case. Not out of the question, though...

Geri it could stem from that metal band that surrounds the Top of the Bionic its funny but it could be connected in some way to the glass to cause current to make it touch sensitive but if it's causing that much static Electricity that i would think would not be good for the Circuit board even though it should be grounded.
Here's the Tear down from I-fixit for the Bionic To let one's know what the Board looks like.
Here's the link:

An Uncle Geri send me a Pm sometime i Know your Busy but have a good weekend oki doki >>
Ps Gator at the time you was holding your Bionic did your hands have any slight persperation on them like from sweatiing or washing your hands an even though drying them off had a little on them. My hand get real sweaty at times especially when we had the high heat an humitity around in our area. but its finally cooled off around here. But i have to watch it. an that case you were talking about some of them can draw Moisture especially if you have warm hands. Just a thought.
