Droid Bionic not receiving calls and delays texts
meier
Newbie

I got a droid bionic back in June and all day today when my bf tried to send me texts I would get them hours later. Also when he tried to call on his lunch break he would hear my phone ring once then went to voicemail. I checked and I don't have him set to go straight to voicemail, and I was able to call him when he texted me to call, so my service should be fine. Also according to the phone it doesn't need any updates.

any advice?

That's not something we want you to put up with meier! I recommend resetting the device and removing all previous text messaging threads.  Pull out the battery to reset the device. Also, was this just for that day (possible network issue) or does this happen frequently (possible device issue)? Are you using any 3rd party texting apps?

Keep us posted on your issue. We're here to assist you!

I'm having that same issue.  I just got a replacement phone sent to me about 2 weeks ago bc the last phone started doing the same thing.  People call and text me and I get nothing or they don't get my texts at all.  Was texting with someone the other day and she thought that I just stopped texting bc she never got anymore messages from me.  This is ridiculous.  I'm paying for service I can't use fully.  The data drops are already a headache.  Now, on top not getting emails or being able to use data, I don't get texts or calls either.  This is really some B.S. Verizon.  I came to you for your network and now I'm regretting it.  Fix it or you will be losing another customer!!!

Well the Verizon rep was right about one thing: you shouldn't have to put up with that.

Hi akenn18,

I'm so sorry you're having the same issue! A replacement phone usually does the trick! I don't want you to have a phone that is unusable! We may need to take a look at the network. What zip code do you have the issue in? Have you ever had your SIM card replaced?

The zip code is 30044 or 30096. It's a matter of crossing the street for the change.  I had the SIM card replaced last year.  I would hope that each year I wouldn't need a new SIM.  Now that I just had time, I just had to open up reports on quite a few msgs from the week that are still pending or were unsuccessful.  I don't have time to have to go back in a check every message that I send to see if I need to try again.  This is really unacceptable.

You're right akenn18. Your time is valuable and I appreciate you giving me those zip codes. It appears the signal in the area should be nice and strong. Most customers don't need to replace the SIM every year. However, like many other forms of electronics, they can sometimes become defective and need replacement. When you replaced it last year, was it for similar reasons? If it was, did it resolve it until recently? If it was replaced for similar reasons and worked until recently, the SIM replacement is an easy process and can be taken care of by visiting a Verizon Wireless store http://bit.ly/3SdsA or calling for a replacement SIM to be shipped to you.

Did this trouble possibly begin when an application was installed to your phone or an update completed?  One way to check if there's simply an application interfering with your device performance is to place the phone into Safe Mode http://bit.ly/mX5mec .

Also, Motorola and Verizon Wireless are constantly working on software upgrades to also help improve phone ability to connect to the great network you mentioned drove you to Verizon Wireless. Once the update becomes available details can be found here: http://bit.ly/v7HETt.

I hope this information is helpful, your patience is greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need further assistance.
