My yahoo email account mysteriously stopped syncing to my Droid Bionic after my son downloaded a game.

I deleted the yahoo account and tried to re-add it but it won't add.....suggestions?

its not just the Bionic, my X2 had the same problem.  It was a good two months where yahoo account sync did not work (I used a workaround to get just the email working) but today I tried and the account sync works again!

My yahoo mail (using the Bionic acct set up) had been working fine until...  had to change my password (account got hacked).  Once I did that, I couldn't make it work no matter what.  Deleted account and tried to add new acct.  Tried manually adding account.  Finally gave up with that and downloaded the yahoo mail app from the app store and that worked flawlessly.  Only issue is that I had to add yet another shortcut to my desktop to be able to quickly access yahoo mail.  So what is wrong with the bionic account set up??

Following up on my previous "solution"...  I ended up deleting the yahoo mail app as it was continuously synching and thus draining my battery quite quickly (charge had been lasting me a full day + depending on use but with the yahoo app it was barely lasting a day no matter how much I used it).  Couldn't figure out how to change the synch interval so it would only check every specified period of time and didn't want to waste more time trying to figure out if it could be done or how to do it.

Today I tried adding my yahoo account again today using the bionic account set up and it worked!!.  Only / main difference today from prior attempts is that I did it when away from home (and sitting in my parked car) so phone was using verizon services (data/phone) and no chance of using my home wifi...  Don't know if that was what made it work or not but thought I'd pass on the info in case it helps someone!

Hello clb314!  Sorry you’re having problems with re-adding your Yahoo email account back to your Droid Bionic!  I’d like to suggest downloading the Yahoo Mail application from the Market/Play Store to re-add the Yahoo account to the device.  Let us know how this works out for you.  Thanks!

The Yahoo Mail application will not sync your contacts or custom folders however. Anyone have any workarounds for this?
