My DINC 2 is having responsiveness issues with the touchscreen. At times it will lock up so that no touches are recognized. I must turn off screen and turn back on to resume using phone. When unresponsive I cannot click on icons or the touch buttons. Problem started within past week and I cannot identify any specific apps I have downloaded during that period. Can anyone please adivse on what the issue may be?

Hi EcoRyan,
I personally know how touch screen issues can become frustrating and I apologize for the delayed response. I am hopeful your issues has been resolved in the interim. If not, please advise, have you recently downloaded any new applications? Do you experience the problem while texting or using the browser?
Try clearing the data/cache for your settings. Go to Settings>Manage Applications>Settings>Clear Data. Additionally, I would suggest running the device in safe-mode to see if you experience the problem while in safe-mode. Here is a link with the Safe - Mode steps. I hope this information is helpful. If you require additional assistance please PM your wireless number.
Thanks for your contribution to our community forums,

I am running into the same exact problem. The touchscreen is becoming more and more unresponsive and/or inaccurate. In particular, it seems like touches around the center of the screen are not recognized, and sometimes it's as if there is a constant touch around the center of the screen as well. Very frustrating. It will happen whether I'm on the home screen or on the keyboard or wherever. I'm not aware of any apps that I have installed to cause my incredible 2 to become unresponsive, but it seems like it's getting worse all the time.

My 1st Gen Dinc is the same way. I put a thumb through the screen on the first one trying to get it to unlock to answer an incoming call after missing the call 4 other times that day for the same reason.
The second one I had to buy still has the same problem from time to time; mostly when using a loud ringtone.
My suspicion has always been poor ground integrity and not enough trace on the PCB to carry the ring tone current and still propery power the touch screen.
I just have to settle for missing calls when it isn't in the mood to allow me to answer incoming calls, and will have to for another 12 months.
What is truly amazing is that within a month of the Dinc being introduced, every vendor and his brother-in-law was carrying replacement touch screens, but Verizon was not aware of any problem.
Apparently there was enough of a fuss that the HBoot screen now identifies which screen is installed in the phone, which seeems like a lot of extra effot to update the firmware to identify a source of a problem that doesn't exist.
I had the original one repaired, but have never been able to see if it works any better, as it came back with a good screen, but wouldn't come out of sleep unless you removed the battery and rebooted.
I use it for 30 minutes at a time as a wifi playtoy around the house. As long as I don't touch the power button, it will usually remain usable for the maximum 30 minute Screen Timeout.
I can't chance activating it for use unless I am not expecting any calls that may require a number of battery removals and reboots to get the timing right in order for me to answer
