There has been a big talk about the Incredible having reception problems HERE. There have been other complaints as well aside from that thread. If you do a search you'll find them.

When will the new update come out? I would like to get this resolved before my 30 day trial is over. Even if it means jumping to another phone or another network. HTC is aware but verizon is not (at least none of the reps ive talked too.)

2.2 prolly wont be out until after your 30 day trial. i don't know if there will be an htc update? there are a couple things you can try
call #228 and select "update your roaming capabilities" and follow the prompt.
or ##778 (this will not actually call anyone....rather it brings you to advanced settings menus)
go to "edit mode"
password is 000000
then change "home orig," "home page," and "roam orig" from evrc to evrc-b. this is an advanced setting change and while i do not know or understand much about....from what i do understand, evrc-b is much more new technology, and if you're in an are that is supported by evrc-b, you may get better quality (i seemed to have). however, if you're in an area that does not support it, then you may have a worse signal and poorer quality after you change it. if this is the case, just follow the same steps to change it back.
i've read on other forums that this is an issue and that it is likely a problem with the location of the antenna in the phone. if that is the case....i do not believe any software updates are going to help those with poor reception???
